It isn't fair to say that love stories aren't read any more. Love stories are popular with many people today. Both young and old people read them. Even young boys read love stories and not only because there are interesting characters, shooting, expensive cars, nightclubs etc there. As a rule, certain love stories are read from generation to generation, meanwhile, some stories aren't read at all. What is it caused by? Obviously, it depends on the way a story is written in and on the information this story contains.
Why do we read love stories? Some people say that all love stories are rather delightful and cheerful stories where it is difficult to distinguish reality from fiction. Actually, good love stories help people to improve their mood and even to overcome relationship problems. What is more, not all love stories are pure imagination; many of them are based on real events. We can read sad stories and compare them with our today's life. Love stories are modern fairy tales: beautiful, eventful and very often with a happy end. Besides, a lot of people read this kind of literature because they want to rest from the books they usually read. They must be tired of difficult scientific texts that take much attention and can't be understood correctly without particular effort. The rest of people read love stories because they have nothing to read any more at the moment.
In such a way we can come to the conclusion that not only those people are fond of reading love stories that are unhappy or aren't satisfied with their lives. This is to say that love stories can be also read by those who just want to have their attention distracted from daily life and just to dream a little.
